How It Works

Are you looking for a little feedback on your writing?

Join us for our weekly critique group.

WHO:

Anyone who is willing to read other people's writing and offer constructive criticism on how authors can improve their work.

We all must follow the cardinal rules, which state:

  • Be nice, but constructive!

  • Bring a pen.

  • Remeber that writing is a learning process.

WHAT:

If you would like to share your writing, you’re welcome to bring a submission from any genre.

  • Please double-space your work so it is readable and easier to comment on.

  • Number your pages

  • Bring no more than 2,000 words.

  • Bring 12 or more copies of your work

WHEN:

We meet Mondays at 5:00 PM to socialize. Critiquing will begin at 5:30 PM.

WHERE:

Barnes & Noble on Rainbow near Lake Mead in the Rainbow Promenade.

2191 N. Rainbow Boulevard Las Vegas, NV 89128

HOW:

We all spend 12 minutes reading the same submission and then discuss it as a group.

HOW LONG:

That depends on how many people share, but it seems like we’re usually heading out around 830 PM or even 9 PM when the store closes.

No one is required to stay until then. People often leave early because they have families to tend to.

INTERESTED? JUST RSVP!

If we have more than 25 people sign up, there will be a waiting list. If you RSVP and can't make it for any reason, that's not a problem. Please cancel your RSVP so we can open up the empty spot for the waiting list.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with us through this site or email LVWritersCritique@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

If your submission is not the beginning of a story, please include a few sentences to help your reader find their feet when reading your submission.

You do not have to bring a piece of writing to participate

We do not allow/encourage reading pieces aloud. It doesn't give the writer a clear interpretation of their work and it's harder for others to critique.

A note to the regulars: Please remember to RSVP so everyone else will know how many copies to bring.

Starting April 4, 2016 we will be moving to the Round Table Pizza on Lake Mead and Buffalo.
